Welcome back after our half term break, we worked so hard in Autumn 1 that we all earned a little time off, but now we are back and ready for Autumn 2!
Our main theme ‘This is me’ is continuing right through for this half term and we will build on our independence skills with dressing and undressing for swimming lessons and self care back in class by brushing our teeth.
Across the weeks we have celebrated Halloween, starting with counting fizzy cauldrons in Maths, listening to ‘In the Hairy Scary Castle’ sensory story, decorating and ordering pumpkins, dancing and moving our bodies along to Halloween action songs in PE, exploring our 5 senses with a spooky sensology lesson and finally incy wincy spider phonics!
This week we sang our brushing teeth song then followed visual instructions to brush our own teeth.
As part of outdoor learning we collected natural items found on a nature walk around school grounds and used these to decorate pumpkins, linking this to Halloween!
A small group walked beautifully to Devonshire park for some fun on the trampolines, swings and climbing frame. They represented Astley Park School wonderfully.
We are all very proud of how Oak pupils have settled back into their daily routines and know we are going to have a fantastic half term ahead of ourselves.
