World Religion Week.

 

This week at Astley Park School,  it’s been World Religion Week.

7P has looked at Judaism.

The class watched a PowerPoint and learnt about Hanukkah.

We learned a story about an evil king called Antiochus who didn’t like people having different beliefs to his. 

But the Maccabee brothers, lead by the oldest, Judah, believed this wasn’t right and formed an army to fight the kings army. 

We looked at the different symbols that makes up the Jewish faith like the Star of David, the Menorah and Hanukkah, known as the festival of light.

 

7P made some sun catchers using the Star of David shape. They also did a few more activities which included colouring the star in and using their cutting skills to make their own star.
We also had a go at making some bread call Challah.
