This week in Chestnut Class, our theme has been Valentines.

We’ve enjoyed a special valentines themed Sensology which included;

Seeing- Valentines colours with different materials.

Hearing - Listening to the heartbeats with our ears that we made on the drums, choosing to tap the drums fast and slow.

Tasting- Tasting chocolate with our tongue, we all chose a different chocolate from the box to eat.

Touching- Cuddling the little Teddy bear.

Smelling- Smelling the beautiful flower petals.

In our continuous provision, we have been colouring in some hearts with felt tips and dabbers, playing heart number matching games and exploring the sensory heart and rice trays.

We also did valentines ‘what in the box’ sessions, which included red glitters and made valentines cards to take home to our families.

On Friday we enjoyed a valentines themed sensory story, where we learnt when Valentine’s Day was and what it’s about. We looked at our cards, tasted more chocolate and looked at love heart symbols, we also passed around gifts to each other. What a great week in Chestnut Class.
