Over the last couple of weeks we’ve had lots of fun activities and events in Chestnut Class. These have included Holi, Mother’s Day & Easter celebrations.

Holi-

To celebrate Holi we all walked around the track while colourful powder paint was thrown on us. Some of our families even came along- It was lots of fun!

Mother’s Day-

For Mother’s Day we spent the afternoon looking at pictures of our mummy’s in a sand tray, we did an attention autism & made Mother’s Day cards.

Easter Celebrations-

For the last two weeks we’ve been focusing on the theme of Easter.

We’ve had;

  • Easter continuous provision
  • Easter number focus, counting bunnies and singing 5 little bunnies.
  • Easter sensory story -
  • In the story we sang old McDonald’s farm and saw different Easter animals such as bunnies & chicks. We wore rabbit ears and tried some carrots. We found an egg which we opened to find a treat inside and hopped around like bunnies.
  • Easter Sensology -
  • Sight- finding different coloured Easter eggs.
  • Sound- rice crispies crunching and sprinkling.
  • Touch- hot cross buns, they were sticky and we needed to wipe our hands!
  • Taste- chocolate mini eggs- we chose which colour we liked.
  • Smell- cinnamon- some of us liked the smell and some of us didn’t!

We also continued our trips to the postbox and Iceland and have been doing fantastic walking and have enjoyed making milkshakes in food technology.
