Monday morning saw us doing maths and looking at money again. After break we all did some 1:1 reading.
In the afternoon some of us went to Tesco for shopping for food tech on Thursday, this week we are making fajitas, the learners chose what they wanted to put with their chicken. To get to Tesco we practiced the skills we have learnt to catch the bus. The learners had to tell the driver where they were going and then watch out for the stop and press the bell.
The learners that stayed in class looked at picture news which this week was looking at inventions.
On Tuesday morning we visited The Life Centre, this week Caitlin talked to us about healthcare assistants and their roles in the hospital and how they help patients. Next everyone went on the ward, some were patients or consultants, matrons and healthcare assistants. Good fun was had by all.
Four of our learners visited Delta hotel, here we were taught how to fold a napkin properly, set the table, pour a glass of wine and we made mocktails! After this we visited one of the bedrooms and was shown how to make a bed. We saw how hard everyone worked at the hotel.
There learners in school carried on with our enterprise project and made more keyrings to sell to raise funds for prom next year.
On Wednesday morning we visited Hindley swimming pool for our weekly swimming lesson.
On Thursday morning we continued with our work at Chorley in bloom, some of us watered the plants and flowers and some of us helped plant different types of tomatoes. This afternoon, we continued with our food tech, where we all tried to work as independently as possible, and we made the classic Mexican dish, fajitas! They were yummy.
On Friday morning we continued with our work experience, where some of us helped support in the primary classes and the rest of us continued to help tidy our Forrest school area. Then we continued writing our stories, we made sure we continued to use good sentence openers. This afternoon we had golden time, and then celebration assembly, it was lovely to see Olivia join celebration assembly again. This weeks star of the week is Grace - for fantastic effort in her work experience this week, getting praise from Mrs Grimshaw! Well done Grace!
