This week in PHSE/Thrive we met another character called Focus-tron. Focus-tron helps everyone, at school and at home, remember to use their focusing powers to stay connected to what they’re doing or what others are talking about.
Next they split into teams to ‘Protect the egg’ Each team were given an envelope with certain equipment in and that was all they could use. Teams worked well together to communicate their ideas. Once they had protected their egg, Mr Staziker had to drop them one by one to see if they were protected well enough. What a fantastic example of positivity and teamwork,two of our school values.
8A have also been doing some more work on our Heroes this week. This involved them creating their own comic strip. Everyone created their own comic strip either with their own characters or characters they had seen before. They learnt that the words often used in comic strips like WOW, Boom, crash, wallop, had a big name ….onomatopoeia.
After this they used their ICT skills to create a comic strip using the Book creator app. Everyone took great pride in their work and there were some great comic strips produced.
On Friday, Christmas had descended and the tree was up!!! Each learner had made a decoration to place on the tree during Celebration assembly and we all sang some Christmas songs. It definitely got everyone into the Christmas spirit!!! :)
