On Monday morning, we had the chance to put into practise what we had learnt with Lauren over the last few weeks about using the train. We got the train from Chorley station to Manchester Piccadilly. We made sure we were there with time to spare and waited safely on the platform for the train. We boarded the train and managed to find somewhere to sit. We chatted with our friends and enjoyed the scenery on the journey. When we arrived, we walked a lovely, christmassy route to Wetherspoons - we saw lots of lights and decorated trees. We had a nice lunch in Wetherspoons and then walked back towards Piccadilly, walking through the Christmas markets. We got back to Platform 14 with minutes to spare before our train home arrived. We had a great day in Manchester and were fantastic at using the train!

On Tuesday morning, we started with Picture News. The question this week was 'How important is it to feel a sense of togetherness?'. The information focussed on the Royal Carol Service that will be happening on Friday in Westminster Abbey. We talked about the people who were invited to the carol service and the reasons why, thinking about how what they do brings people together. Gill and Iris, from Chorley in Bloom, have been invited to the carol service this year, for all their great work that they do with Chorley in Bloom, and the young people they support! How fantastic! After Picture News, we continued with our maths work, with some of us looking at adding to the next 10, estimating and calculating percentages in multi-step problems. In the afternoon, we started sewing our Christmas cards. It was really hard to get going with it, as we had to copy the design (that was on paper) onto our card that we are sewing. After a few minutes, we finally got the hang of it and made some good progress on our cards - can't wait to see the finished product!!

On Wednesday morning, we revisited advertisements. We looked at a video of adverts selling breakfast cereals, talking about what tricks they use to try to make people buy their cereal. We looked at the colours that they use, the characters they create and the catchy slogans. We then had a go at designing our own breakfast cereal and the box that it would come in, thinking about all the things we had identified in the adverts we watched. After that we continued with our maths. In the afternoon, we continued with our sewing to give ourselves the best chance to finish our cards in time for Christmas! After school on Wednesday we had the Christmas Extravaganza! It was such a fun, festive event that got us in the Christmas spirit! Thank you to our 11A volunteers who came along to help me sell some of our Christmas Crafts on the Y11 stall!!

On Thursday morning, we went shopping for our breakfast butty stock. We noticed that the price of some of our items had gone down but some had gone up. When we got back from shopping we did some reading of our library books and our reading books. In the afternoon we went to the gym - we had another go at beating our scores on the cardio machines. We're finding it harder to improve each week now but we still all give it a good go! When we got back to school, we wrote up some of our ASDAN, as we realised we were using the treadmills safely by clipping on the emergency clip when walking/running!

On Friday morning we made our Breakfast Butties - this week was a big week with 32 orders.. this is the biggest one so far this term! After that we spent some time reading our library books. In the afternoon we had golden time and celebration assembly. **Star of the Week** this week is everyone, for their fantastic behaviour whilst travelling to Manchester! We were all very proud of you!
