On Monday we started our day with maths. One group continued measuring in metres, we went outside and used string to measure the polytunnel, we then measured  the string with our metre rulers. Another group focused on the perimeter of rectangles. After break we did picture news. This weeks question was “can awards encourage people to help others and care for the world?”. We spoke about how awards can be motivating. There’s a new award called the Jane Goodall Earth Medal, and this is to recognise people working to improve the world. We learnt about Jane Goodall and the work she has done. We spoke about times when we get awards, like in celebration assembly. Our task was to look at the awards we give out at school and to think about our school values and how we could link an award to these, we had to then design a badge and then explain the reason for our design. In the afternoon we played some social games, some of us played uno, some of us played ludo and some of us played Kluster.

On Tuesday morning we started the day with maths, one group continued measuring in metres and centimetres and was looking at measurements and seeing which is longer than and shorter than. Another group continued working out the perimeter and area of compound shapes. In English, we continued with our research and making our animal encyclopaedia. In the afternoon we had science, we continued our work on habitats and did more research about different habitats and how different animals adapt to their habitat. After this we did Zumba again in PE.

On Wednesday morning we continued with our maths work, on area, perimeter and comparing heights. After our maths lesson, we went on a special trip to the Hindu temple as part of World Religion Week celebrations. We all enjoyed the trip and we were very respectful. We found this very interesting and thought the temple was very pretty. In the afternoon we did our KS4 options, it’s great to see everyone enjoy doing their options.

On Thursday morning we started with a bit of writing practice, and everyone did great. Later on, two of us went over to Runshaw College to have a look around. After this we did some guided reading. In the afternoon we went to Tesco to get the things we need for our breakfast butties. After Tesco we got back to school and finished off some of our ASDAN work.

On Friday morning we made breakfast butties for the staff around school, after this we went back to class and we had some left over barms and bacon, so we got to enjoy a butty too, as well as the staff! In the afternoon we had well being time. Some of us watched Shrek, whilst some of us made lip gloss and others had some good chats and laughs. This weeks we have 2 stars of the week! Ben for having a fantastic attitude all week and Ollie for using fantastic maths knowledge to calculate the total of the shopping and working out the change!! Well done both!
