This week we have been learning about mental health. We have been very busy. We did some yoga to help us remember that exercise helps keep us healthy. We baked biscuits and made faces with different emotions on using sweet treats! We went in the sensory room to help us to relax and learn ways that might help our engine feel just right. We have talked about our emotions everyday and watched videos of different emotions. We did an attention autism session about worry, the worry monster ate our worries and helped us feel less worried, we also chose words out of a feely bag that can help us stay healthy and practised these! Mason had a nap to show us getting enough sleep is important, Alex told us about what he was doing later to show us its good to talk and Alex showed us some deep breathing. Nathan showed chose mindfulness and we listened to a cat mindfulness story. We listened to a worry monster story and a big bag of worries story. We made some keep calm and positive key rings to try to distract us when we are feeling worried and remind us to be positive. We learnt about how much sugar is recommended per day and looked at how many teaspoons of sugar drinks had in. We talked about a healthy diet. We played some games and did some parachute games to encourage team work and exercise. What a fantastic week 9G well done everyone.
