10G had lots of fun yesterday celebrating World Earth Day. We talked about what we thought World Earth Day first and thought it was something about making good choices with the Earth. Then Miss Robertson read to us and talked to us all about what World Earth Day was. We found out that it has been celebrated for 51 years. We then talked about ways we can look after our planet. We came up with some super ideas including taking shorter showers, picking up rubbish, turning lights off when you are not in the room, recycling etc.
We then planted some sunflower seeds and talked about how we can make sure to look after our plants. We decided we were going to keep our plants on our window sills so they have access to light and give them a little bit of water every day. This will help to make the Earth look nice and be ready to be passed on to the next generation.
