Today the class turned red for our Wear Red for Racism day. We had some fantastic activities lined up starting with a great story called 'Part of the Party.' The story is about a group of animals who have not been invited to a disco because they are different. The animals who have been left out are hurt and feel left out and so get together to make a difference and their voice is heard. This story created some great discussions about what is the same and different about people and we discussed that although we are "all individual and beautiful, together we are a masterpiece."

We then looked at photos of lots of different people with different hair, eyes, skin colour and discussed why they look different.

Next some of us drew pictures of our friends and then of ourselves, we noticed lots of things that were the same and different about each other.  Some also looked at what human rights are and what makes a bully - especially what things we can be bullied for!.

Other children used playdoh mats with characters with different skin colours to make funny faces from playdoh. We enjoyed making, eyes, ears, noses and silly hairstyles.

Great work 11G!!!!
