This week has been Mental Health week and the theme is nature.

We have looked at what mental health is and things we can do to stay healthy.

Sarah said everyone has mental health and it’s keeping your body and brain healthy.

Mrs Cobham made each of us a heart and we attached a label to it with what we do to cheer ourselves up. We had lots of great ideas including a bubble bath, talking to someone about our worries, taking our dog for a walk, watching a favourite film and eating a favourite food.

We also learned all about “grounding” and we watched a video on the school you tube channel and then we went to the forest school through the “forbidden forest” and we used this technique to relax. Rebecca said you can do this anywhere if you are feeling worried.

We’ve  been in the “forbidden forest” and made art with nature. It was really good fun and relaxing listening to the birds singing and making our pictures.

To keep our bodies healthy we did some Harry Potter yoga and in groups we made up new names for poses.

On Friday it was Wear Green Day to remind us to think about our mental health.

We have started reading Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets. Michael recognised that the Weasly family treat Harry like he is one of the family and that this is great for Harry’s mental health. We also recognised that Ron, Hermione and Harry look out for each other all the time and share their worries.

Our Star of the Week this week is Rebecca - for independently crocheting an amazing blanket and for having a positive attitude.
