This week has been another busy week for 11G - we have continued with college visits for some students but also taken part in a week long extravaganza of everything sporty!! We have done lots of activities to get our bodies and our minds working. On Monday we started the week with a class warm up hosted by our very own Mrs McDonnell. In Joe Wickes style, Mrs McDonnell performed the warm up routines live through Teams and all the classes followed the routine alongside her. During the afternoon we had lots of fun playing a game of rounders on the school field. We also had a go at a strange version of the egg and spoon race too. There was lots of laughter to be heard!!!
On Tuesday it was time for rugby and football skills. We practiced penalty shoot outs and kicking a ball in to touch. On Wednesday we played flat bat rounders which is a different game to old fashioned rounders that uses a small bat much like cricket bat. We also found out facts about some of our British sporting heroes like Mo Farah. Did you know that he favourite training session is running on a treadmill that is under water!!! Thursday it was time to try our hand at skipping, walking / running a mile followed by tennis skills in the afternoon. Finally on Friday we played basketball. This is something that we have been doing a lot so we were able to show our skills off to the other classes in school.
Phew!!!! We all definitely enjoyed our week of sport and feel much fitter because of it. Well done to everyone in 11G!!
