10G had a fantastic time at Calvert Trust. On the Monday we all had a lovely chat at school and got all of our things ready to go. Then we got to stop off at McDonald’s on the way for our lunch which was a lovely treat. Once we arrived at Calvert Trust we unpacked our suitcases and had a lovely meal together. In the evening we went for a lovely walk up a mountain and got to see some amazing views whilst we were up there. We we’re all quite tired after this.
On Tuesday we got the opportunity to practise going up the climbing wall, abseiling and going on the very high swing. We all were incredibly brave and rose to the challenge. The swing made everyone scream with excitement and we all climbed to the top of the climbing wall which we were all very proud of ourselves for completing. After a picnic we went on a walk to the lake and got to have a go at trying out some bushcraft activities. We learnt all about how to light a fire and had a go. Then we helped the instructors to boil the kettle on the fire so that we could all have a nice hot drink. Then we all got to toast some marshmallows which was delicious, some did look very crispy! After eating our delicious treat then we helped to make some popcorn over the fire which was a lot of fun. In the evening we then got to go and use the sensory room at Calvert Trust. We enjoyed having a chance fo relax and unwind there and then headed to bed for an early night after such a busy, fun day. We also celebrated Mrs Clegg’s birthday and even got to have chocolate birthday cake which was delicious.
On Wednesday morning we went up the the hill ‘Dodd’ and got to see the fantastic view of Keswick around us. We even saw as far as Scotland. It was quite a steep hill but we all rose to the challenge and did a super job. Then we walked back down the hill all the way back to Calvert Trust. It was great getting out for the morning and really nice to be able to have a long walk and chat to one another.
