This half term we are learning traditional rhymes through play, songs and Attention Autism. This week we have been enjoying Incy Wincy Spider and retelling the story through play. During Attention Autism Stage 3 we explored taking turns to pour blue rice down a drain pipe to ‘wash the spider out’ and felt the ‘rain’ whilst taking turns to sit under an umbrella! We have created Incy Wincy spider using playdoh and counted out his legs. We have also been on the hunt for creatures in our outdoor area and found lots of ‘spiders’ hidden in our sand pit. We are so proud of our learners this week who have been taking turns during their play when retelling the story with their friends.
We have accessed the balance bikes this week and have been focussing on our gross motor movement skills when travelling.
What a busy and wonderful first week back!
