On Tuesday it was 1st March, which meant that it was St David’s Day. In 8A we learnt about who St David was and why people in Wales like to celebrate on 1st March. We found out that the people of Wales like to march in parades, sing and play music and dance too. Lots of people (especially children) like to dress up in Traditional Welsh clothes while they are taking part in these activities. Some people like to wear a daffodil or leek on their clothes to remember St David, while some people like to fly the St David’s flag outside their homes.
As part of our My Creativity session, pupils created beautiful pieces of artwork of daffodils or St David’s flag. We used tissue paper and practiced our fine motor skills by scrunching it into small balls, then gluing them onto our paper. Some of us sketched our own pictures of daffodils, then painted them using watercolours.
I think you will agree they look fantastic, we have displayed them in our classroom for everyone to see.
