Today 9A learnt about why we celebrate Remembrance Day every year on the 11th November. The children spoke about what they already know about Remembrance Day and why they think we have a two minute silence. They correctly said that we celebrate Remembrance Day to remember the millions who have died at war.
Today, at 11 o’clock, 9A used one of our school values - Respect. We all stood outside and stayed silent for two minutes, whilst listening to a bugle. We also saw and heard a helicopter fly by too, whilst we were paying our respect.
The learners participated in listening to staff reading a PowerPoint all about Remembrance Day and they guessed what key words would be shown throughout the PowerPoint like poppies, war and soldiers.
