This week we have celebrated Rainbow week.
Rainbow week is a joyful and colorful display of love, unity, and resilience, with lots of activities to promote inclusivity, educate, and celebrate diversity.
8P have looked at stories about families and how everyone is different and that is ok. We watched a video about how no matter how or who we are we are all accepted and that we need to be proud of who we are and respect each other.
8P made fruit pancakes using fruit that was the colours of the rainbow. After we made them we obviously had to taste them… we all agreed that they were delicious!
We intently listened to a story called Part of the Party. The story centres around Karri Koala who wants to go to the Mummy and Daughter Disco in town but lives with her two dads. We heard how Karri makes it her mission to make sure all of her friends and their families can be part of the party, not just mummies and daughters. 8P enjoyed listening to the story and we talked about it afterwards, asking lots of questions.
We discussed and drew a picture about who lives in our house including our pets, did lots of colourful pictures and some acrostic poems.
Everyone drew a picture to go on our Parade flag, I think we can all agree there were lots of fantastic drawings and bright colours.
On Friday the whole school wore different colours, 8P’s colour was green. We walked around the track in our colourful clothes with other classes whilst showing off our flag and dancing to the music.
8P were extremely proud of their work!!
