11A have had a fabulous start to the week at Bendrigg.

When we arrived yesterday, the pupils all independently made their beds, unpacked and settled into their rooms. We then enjoyed jacket potato for lunch to fuel us up before an afternoon of archery and bike riding. A special shout out to “Special Forces” team for winning our archery competition (Jake, JJ, Connor and Mrs Wells), but everybody did a super job. Bike riding was lots of fun.

In the evening we enjoyed Pasta Bolognaise for dinner before our evening orienteering course.

Everybody slept well!

This morning we enjoyed a cooked breakfast or cereals to start the day. We then spent the morning climbing on the indoor climbing wall and abseiling inside. Everybody conquered fears, challenged themselves and encouraged their friends. We are so proud of everybody!

We took a break for soup and a sandwich for lunch before an afternoon of crate stacking. Again there was some super team work this afternoon. JJ and Jake managed to stack their crates 12 levels high, closely followed by Sammy and Owen R who reached 9 levels high, and then Mrs Wells, Megan and Owen G, Connor and Daniel, Mrs Crouch and Teddy who all reached 8 levels high, and Josh and Mrs Fisher managed 3 levels high. Super team work and bravery!

After a short break we then explored the indoor cave and played a game of hide and seek. Mrs Wells was our winner!

This evening we enjoyed sausage and mash for dinner before having some fun in the sports hall and sensory room.

I think everybody will sleep well tonight.

We are looking forward to the rest of the week!
