On Monday Lee was in again and this week she talked about employability. She showed some jobs on the whiteboard and asked if they were fake jobs or real jobs. There were some very funny jobs that people get paid for. The pupils did a questionaire about their School and Home Habits and why these habits might be important for a job later in life. We will be doing some more work on this next week.
Teegan, Grace and Gemma completed their independent travel for their Asdan Award. They were able to use the skills they have learnt together back to school safely. Well done girls.
On Tuesday morning Teegan went to Embellished with Emily for her work experience. She helped to clean the salon and washed a client’s hair. Emily said she did really well and the client was pleased with the pressure Teegan applied as she was washing her hair. Great work Teegan!
On Tuesday afternoon we went to the sports hall at All Seasons to play some games with class 10P. We all had good fun.
On Wednesday morning the learners sat in groups and did some guided reading, then after break we looked at 3D shapes and their properties. After lunch in science Miss Bentham talked about gravity and why we need it. We experimented with toy cars and went round school to find ramps and slopes that the cars would go down. We found that some of the cars went faster than others if the ramp was steeper and some of the cars didn’t move at all.
On Thursday morning, we visited Chorley in Bloom where some of us planted tomatoes, some of us watered the plants and some of us put some netting over the plants to protect them. In the afternoon, we had food tech where we made bacon butties. Again, we used our skills that we have previously learnt. Some of us tucked into these and we all really enjoyed them. They were described as a 1000/10!
On Friday morning we all continued with our work experience where some of us did a stock check and delivered some sand to Beech class. The rest of us helped support the other classes around school. This week Mr Welsh came and had lunch with us, he brought us hot chocolate and treats! In the afternoon we enjoyed golden time then watched celebration assembly. This weeks star of the week is Teegan - for a great work place visit in the salon. Teegan used her initiative whilst there and was complimented by the clients saying she gave great head massages. Well done Teegan.
