VE Day in 7P

On Thursday morning the learners listened to a story about VE Day and watched a video about it. The class watched a news report that was 80 years old celebrating the end of the Second World War. The video also showed a picture of a lady who was 15 years old at the time and then showed her today and we listened to what she remembered about that day. She said there were lots of celebrations like singing and dancing in the streets.

We then looked at a PowerPoint of how children that lived in busy towns had to move away to the country side.  When the war had finished they could come back home. This was to keep them safe.

The learners then did some colourful semantics and extended colourful semantics  work to comment on what was happening in the photographs to celebrate VE Day 80 years ago.

They did some good cutting and sticking and some good handwriting, writing out a sentence about the VE Day photographs.

7P then did some lovely colouring of children waving the British flag.

The class school governor, Mr Maher came in to join our learning today as well and help the children with their work. Thank-you Mr Maher.
