Before we started, we needed to wash our hands and put our aprons on as we know it is important to make sure our hands are clean and that our uniform stays clean too.
Mrs England and Miss Aindow gave out the recipes and read them to us.
Next, we took it in turns to find the equipment that we needed for the lesson. Harrison is getting really good at looking at the labels on the cupboards and using them to help him find the right equipment, well done!
First, we had to squash the blueberries using a fork. It was a bit sticky!
Next, we mixed the oats, butter and sugar into a bowl. We had to use our fingers to rub the ingredients together. Some of us liked the feel of the ingredients on our fingers.
Then we used some of the butter to grease the baking tray, Mrs England told us that this is to stop the flapjack sticking to the tray.
Next it was time to put the mixture into the tray. We used our hands to press it down (but it kept popping up again!!). We poured the blueberries on top of the flapjack mixture and spread them out. Then it was time to put them in the oven.
We all worked together to tidy up. Charlie did some brilliant tidying by wiping the tables down! Super work.
Finally, we watched the Fruity Flapjack episode of I Can Cook on the screen.
After our daily mile, all the class got to try our delicious baking. Hope that you liked the ones that we sent home!
Group 2 will get to make the same Fruity Flapjacks next Wednesday.
