This week has been a busy week for Oak Club. Miss Cross, Miss Holden, Mr Aindow, Miss Connolly and Miss Ward have had a wonderful week helping all the primary children, in who are still school, while their parents are busy at work.
Let’s have a look what they have been up to while still in school ..
On Monday,
We started off our week reading the story ‘Dinosaurs Love Underpants’ we all did super sitting and listening while Miss Cross and Miss Holden read our story. After playtime we found lots of the story characters hiding outside - we all had to use our good looking skills to find them all as some were very tricky to see. When back in class we counted them all up and found out how many of each character we found. Joseph and Grace E did fantastic listening to the number challenges from Miss Cross. Noah did great work using his PECs with his new teachers requesting his favourite toys up with no prompting - Well Done Noah! In the afternoon we decorated some dinosaurs and then got busy outside on the bikes and scooters.
On Tuesday,
We explored lots of physical movements in the hall and spoke about which activities we liked best, Ben did super looking at the ball with Miss Holden, he took it off her and dropped it on the floor - great work Ben. Amelia and Grace M really enjoyed throwing the balls and trying to ‘tig’ with the ball. Grace E enjoyed dancing with Miss Holden, especially to the gummy bear song. In the afternoon, Miss Cross did an Attention Autism and we all got to make our own shape splat dinosaur. Grace M did fantastic naming of the shapes and colours she used for the different parts of the body - Super looking Grace!
On Wednesday,
We started the day with relaxation as our engines were running fast. Joseph chose to do his crafts, cutting and sticking in his boxes too - Great work Joseph. After playtime Noah and Amelia got busy in the workstation with Miss Cross and Grace and Joseph did work with Miss Holden and Miss Ward making animal masks and acting like their animals. In the afternoon we got busy out in the sun, Grace and Joseph worked on their social skills with Miss Holden and later we made some music too!
On Thursday,
We were very lucky we had two special deliveries to school, one from Poundland Chorley; some very yummy Easter Eggs and one from B&Q Chorley; some beautiful plants. In the morning we made some rice crispy cakes using some chocolate from the Easter Eggs. Grace M, Grace E and Joseph did fantastic turn taking and waiting; mixing and adding the ingredients. In the afternoon, we went outside and Miss Holden showed us how to plant the plants we had been donated. The front of school looks very pretty now - fantastic work everyone! We then enjoyed our yummy chocolate cakes - they definitely got a thumbs up from us!
On Friday,
Noah and Amelia did lots of work requesting desired objects using PECS to make a jigsaw - Super work! Joseph, Grace E and Grace M did more work on their social skills and explored physical activities outside.
Great work everyone - we are very proud of how hard you have all worked this week.
Keep safe and have a lovely weekend.
