The children of Willow class have loved celebrating sports week in school and at home!
In school Connor, Daniel, Grace and Owen have enjoyed taking part in the six star challenges, trying out lots of different exercises and regulation strategies and lessons staying active outdoors. They have even designed their own sports stadiums using their science knowledge of materials and designed delicious healthy fruit smoothies that they can make independently as part of their healthy lifestyles.
All four children gained gold award certificates for completing the challenges. Well done to Connor who we chose as our star of the week for completing the challenges in school AND at home! Ms Carter and Miss Robinson joined in with the activities at school and Ms Carter has even been running with some of her friends from school on the track when the children go home- wow, what a good role model!
Olivia had a very active sports week at home with her family! She joined in with the six star sports challenges and tried lots of different exercises. Olivia practiced her breathing blowing bubbles and holding her breath swimming under water in her paddling pool, enjoyed running on the beach and worked on her upper body strength laying flags in the garden. Wow Olivia, what a useful skill to learn! Miss Riley liked the look of Olivia’s beach running and went to the beach for a socially distanced walk with her friend and walked her dog in lots of rain and storms this week!
We hope everyone keeps up this fantastic healthy lifestyle after sports week! Your teachers in Willow class have seen how talented willow children are at cooking healthy foods in food tec and we are sure you are all practicing this at home too.
