Wow Willow class, what a great first week back!
You have had a great start to the new term. We have started our class book of Little red riding hood, looking at the characters and how we can use descriptive language like adjectives to define characters in book. Some of us even tried writing a character description-wow. We have also been looking at the big bad wolf and linking it to our real life stranger danger knowledge, decking who we can trust and what makes a good friend. We did some amazing maths too, impressing Miss Riley with our knowledge of pattern sequencing and number bonds.

On Thursday however, we strayed away from our Once upon a time theme and our class book to look at... BONFIRE NIGHT!!
A few of us were disappointed that we couldn’t visit a bonfire but we decided to celebrate in class instead! We worked on our fine motor skills making some amazing artwork and blew our teachers socks off with amazing bonfire maths activities but most importantly- we made bonfire night chocolate apples!

We  made sure to wash our hands then worked as a class team to follow a recipe and make chocolate apples, following step by step instructions. Some of us don’t like fruit but decided to make apples for people we love at home. What kind pupils we have in willow class! There was hardly any washing up for us to do at the end of lesson as unsurprisingly the chocolate bowls were licked clean!
A well deserved treat for Willow class, well done everyone!
