What a busy week we’ve had in 8G!

Our theme has been Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, and we’ve really enjoyed watching the original film in class. Katie and Clayton are also reading the book. We linked our science to this topic when we explored solids and liquids - we talked about what would happen to chocolate if we put it in the microwave. We then broke some chocolate into pieces and took turns to put it in the microwave. It didn’t take long to melt, then we poured the liquid chocolate into moulds. The moulds went into the fridge for an hour, and when they came out, the chocolate had turned back into a solid!

We’ve had some fun workouts this week - we did a Wonder Woman workout in class and had a great time  with the wheelbarrows when we set up an obstacle course and had wheelbarrow races. We also had a bike riding session where we learned about road safety - Mr Massey held up red and green cards so we could practice stopping at the traffic lights.

In our live cooking lesson, we made carrot cakes. We had to grate the carrots very carefully so we didn’t grate our fingers too. Our cakes smelt amazing and everyone who saw them, wanted to try them. The good thing about Coronavirus is that we don’t have to share!

Have a great weekend everyone, and we’ll update you again next week.
