Last week some of the children throughout school got busy to help school enter an Easter competition that Chorley police station is running to win lots of Easter eggs.

The children got very creative making cards with Easter egg prints, finger print Chicks, hand print Chicks and sheep. The children used lots of different equipment and materials to create their cards, including scissors, forks, potato mashers, wool and paint. To finish the cards off the children did some fantastic writing inside the cards saying, “Happy Easter from Astley Park School”.

Mrs Taylor then collected all the cards and delivered them to 2 different local nursing homes, Adelphi Care Home and Jasmine Court Care Home. The staff at both nursing homes were very greatful to receive the cards and praised the children for their hard work and creativeness. Mrs Taylor also received some lovely photographs from one of the care homes of the residents looking at their Easter cards, the residents looked delighted to have received them and the children where really happy to look at the photographs knowing that they had put a smile on the residents faces.

Good luck Astley Park School with the competition, let’s all keep our fingers and toes crossed for a visit from the Easter Bunnies, AKA Chorley police.

Thanks,

Mrs Taylor
