This week in Sycamore we have been looking at the story of ‘The Treasure of Captain Claw’. We worked in groups to label the cover of the book and write our prediction of what we think is going to happen in the book. We read the book and looked a parts of the story identifying what is happening in each of the parts and then we used our imagination thinking about what a pirate would be able to see if he was looking through a telescope we drew our thoughts and wrote about them.

We have looked at our letter sounds, using the whiteboard to help us, our teachers are very impressed with not only our letter sound skills but our information retention of where the letters were hiding. We loved recognising given sounds within words and matching the sounds to the colour key to help us colouring in our pirate themed picture.

Ready! Steady! Run! In Sycamore we have loved doing relay races with our friends enjoying the outdoors. We ran really fast even though we were laughing all the way.

Over or under? We enjoyed outdoor games with our friends, standing in a line deciding whether to pass the ball to our friends over or under, it was important we were alert and ready to receive the ball. On Wednesday we had another visit from Chorley Sports Partnership again, we worked on our skills, did some different drills and followed instructions very well.

Great work Sycamore!
