Good afternoon all 8A fans and families,
I will start this week’s blog by announcing our Star of the Week. This week Joseph won the award for showing great maturity throughout the week and dealing well with our problem-solving tasks in baking and keeping a calm head. He has been that mature he even pretended he was the teacher!
The rest of the class have also been fantastic as they have looked after each other while a cold has been making us all feel under the weather. Well done team!
In our My Communication lessons we have been making practicing making our own comics by adding speech bubbles to comic strips. All pupils were able to think of some amazing sentences to add humour and sense to their comic.
We used life skills/baking to drive our problem solving this week. As the pupils had mastered the art of brownie making this week, I played some tricks on them this week by removing some key ingredients from their recipe and challenging them to think of a solution.
I’m pleased to say that the pupils stepped forward as the staff stepped back, showing their true capabilities. Go 8A!
We have also been exploring shape and symmetry through painting. Check out our creations!
The pupils have continued their weekly community access and been out in the community twice practicing independent travel and shopping skills.
In Me and My body we jazzed up the game of netball by modifying how we moved by using scooter boards! We some how also managed to squeeze swimming in, with every pupil completing and minimum of 100 meters!
I’m getting tired just writing this blog we have done that much!
Have a great weekend everyone!
