We’ve had a great week in 9A!

We’ve been starting to access the community again. Many pupils have enjoyed going shopping this week. They sourced ingredients for our cooking sessions. One group made cheese toasted sandwiches and one group made chocolate brownies. Yum yum! They were delicious. They ate these during snack time at the end of the day on Tuesday before returning home.

The pupils who didn’t visit the shop have visited the library this week. They enjoyed learning about how to register for a library card and researched the Victorians using the books available at the library. They walked there using their travel training skills also.

We have been practising life skills in our cooking and potions class this week. We’ve enjoyed performing experiments in the potions class as well as learning how to measure, for example, asking them to put 5 teaspoons of baking soda into the potion.

This week, we’ve also practised our maths and reading skills. We’ve learnt maths skills through our potions class as well as reading and drama skills – reading the instructions. We have practised our reading and drama skills through our lessons on witches and wizards. They enjoyed pretending to be witches!

Well done 9A on a fantastic week. Have a great weekend!
