Week 4 Cooking and Visiting the Library

This week 7P started their “Food Technology” and “Community Access” sessions.

This year we have decided to split the class for these activities so we can give the learners a more personalised experience.

One group visited the local Library. As the weather was a little wet, Miss Robertson drove. The children really enjoyed getting to read lots of different books at the library with each other- some personal favourites were Minecraft, Yawnicorn, Leon the Chameleon and Where’s Wally. The group did everyone proud and made super choices all afternoon.

The other group did a food technology activity. They had to follow a step by step instruction to make Spooky Rice Crispy Cakes. They had to melt the chocolate first, pour and stir in coco pops, then spoon the mixture into cupcakes.

Then to add a little more magic to the activity, they had to decorate their Rice Crispy Cakes to look like spiders. Ms Carter put a few images of spiders on her IPad. The learners then counted the number the legs a spider had.

Hope you were allowed to sample these Spider Rice Crispy Cakes.

The groups will swap over next week. Have a good weekend everyone.
