What another amazing week in 9G! We really do love all being together!

On Monday 9G began our new story ‘We’re going on a Leaf hunt’. Miss Hendy did a sensory story to go with each page. We then practiced our writing of autumn words, reading and played in the new sensory autumn tray. In the afternoon we took part in lots of autumn themed activities and began making our own ‘Worry Balls’ out of balloons and cornflour. We are going to put these in our happy bags!

On Tuesday with Mr Murphy we celebrated Harrison’s birthday and made cards. We also took part in some brain breaks and playing games together. In the afternoon we continued with the celebration playing various games and singing to Harrison. We also had some cake and chocolates! Thank you Harrison!

On Wednesday, we continued with our ‘We’re going on a Leaf Hunt’ story. We really like this story as we can join in and say the phrases from it! We continued with our autumn themed areas, and thanks to some of the children and parents we have even more acorns, conkers and pine cones to add to the sensory tray! In the afternoon, we showed Miss Hendy how good our number skills are. Some children did some Numicon work, some played snakes and ladders and other were superstars making numbers using the peg boards!

On Thursday, more Numicon fun was had! We showed Mrs England how well we could order the giant Numicon and some of us had a go at addition with the Numicon shapes! Everyone has become more confident in using the peg boards to make numbers! In the afternoon, we had a bit of messy fun with Attention Autism. Miss Hendy did a season’s bucket, and then made leaves for the different seasons with shaving foam, glitter and food colouring. It was then the children’s turn to splat! Let’s say it got a little bit messy!

On Friday, we did some in class Baking. We made our very own feelings pancakes – most of the children chose a happy face! We ate these at snack time and they were very yummy!

Well done for an awesome week 9G!
