This week we have been learning about our bodies and ways that we can keep healthy. We have been exploring lots of exercises and movements that help keep our minds and bodies healthy. We have also talked about how the activities have made our engines feel, using the Alert Programme.
On Thursday we had a fun filled day exploring our bodies and learning about keeping healthy. In the morning we enjoyed a carousel of activities; making fruit smoothies, making playdough, playdough-gym and peer-massage.
When making the smoothies we talked about the ingredients and identified if they are healthy or not. Sycamore said that the banana and strawberries are healthy but the ice cream is not. We all agreed it is very yummy and okay to have as a treat. Sycamore got messy making the playdough and it made some of our engines fast - it was very sticky. But, we all thought the massage was relaxing and made our engines feel just right.
In the afternoon we enjoyed a ‘what’s in the box’ activity. Miss Cross drew around Isobel and then we all took turns to name parts of the body and label them. Sycamore did great thinking about the different body parts and could name lots! After labelling the body we explored movements with ours in different dances. Our favourite was the Pinocchio dance!
