We have had a great first week back after half term.

There has been lots of firework and bonfire themed fun this week.

In our My Thinking and Problem Solving sessions we have been working on recognising objects up to 10 in different arrangements, adding 1 digit numbers together using blocks to help us, and counting out amounts up to 5. We have also been practicing our number formation using chalk and sensory materials.

In My Communication, we have shown Miss Hendy how good our listening skills are by listening to different bonfire themed sounds and guessing what they are. We have also continued to practice our sight reading and sounds write work.

We have been getting very creative this week by making finger paint bonfire's, which Miss Hendy demonstrated during Attention Autism. Miss Hendy let off some firework poppers which made a glittery mess everywhere! We have also been working with Mr Murphy making our own fire work images using straws, paint and glitter.

As always, we have continued with our communication skills this week, asking each other questions and taking turns during games of snap, pairs and dominoes. Dominoes is new to us and quite hard but we had lots of fun!

We have also been looking at dangers this week. Thomas was able to tell me about who a stranger was to him, Nicola could tell me about dangerous things in the classroom like coats being on the floor, and Rose could tell me who helps her the classroom and what they help her with.

This week we watched a video about the new digital leaders. We found out that Francesca is our new digital leader for class! Well done Francesca!

Next week we will be introducing our story Star in a Jar and also exploring what Remembrance is.

Have a lovely weekend!

Miss Hendy, Mrs England and Miss McPartlin.
