7A have loved learning about Bonfire Night this week as part of our Celebrations topic.

On Wednesday afternoon, we completed a challenge to create safety fireworks for the younger children to refer to on Bonfire Night. We listened to a safety presentation and then added our own suggestions such as keeping pets inside so they aren't scared by the fireworks!

On Thursday, we read stories about Bonfire Night. Some of us continued to read "Sparks in the Sky" and used colourful semantics to write about the story, while others read "The Gunpowder Plot" story and found out that we celebrate Bonfire Night to celebrate Guy Fawkes being caught before he blew up the King and Government! In the afternoon we practiced dancing with props and created a firework dance! Connor was keen for us to share our dance on the school website!

Today we have completed some Mathematics assessments this morning to inform our future PLGs and this afternoon we made edible sparklers as a Friday treat using breadsticks, chocolate and sprinkles. YUM! We also enjoyed time on the climbing frame during Golden Time.

Well done to our star of the week Amelia who has been practicing using her Now/Next board to support transitions!

Have a lovely weekend 7A! Next week we will learning all about Diwali celebrations!
