We had one day less in school this week but we didn’t have any less fun or learn any less! We also had a birthday to celebrate! We had lots of cake and sang a big happy birthday to Ayah.

We’re continuing to Sail the Seven Seas in Oak Class and we’re still finding treasure in our learning. In our The World About Me lesson we followed the visual instructions to make Ocean Juice, a mix of orange juice, lemonade and blue food colouring. We ticked off all of the steps as we did them and the juice looked just like the ocean when we added the blue!

My Thinking and Problem Solving led us to feed the super hungry Polly the Parrot shaped crackers. Some of us could tell our teachers the names of the shapes and whether they have round or straight edges and some of us can match the shapes!

We have been forming sentences, using colourful semantics, about our pirate story in My Communication. We found a girl looking through a telescope and a pirate steering a boat. We have lots more characters to find in the On a Pirate Ship story, who will we see next time?

We followed the motion of the boat during our pirate dance feeling the waves moving the boat up and down and all around. Our bodies were so alert after Me and My Body so we calmed our bodies with some relaxing music and bubbles.

We also made our own music with Miss Troughton in My Creativity. We each had our own musical instrument, xylophones, maracas, drums and even our knees. We tapped along to the beat of the Deep Blue  Sea on our laps then we used our instruments to play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

We are doing very well at turn taking in our pop-up pirate game and on the Nintendo Switch!

Well done again, Oak Class on such good learning.
