We’ve had a fantastic week in 8P! What a great first week back.

On Monday, we did our holiday news, where we looked at lots of photos of what we did in the holidays and talked about our time off school. In the afternoon, we played on the wobble boards and then did our PSHE lesson on body parts and private body parts.

On Tuesday, half of the class went swimming and the other half stayed in school and learnt about Eid. In the afternoon, we did our English lesson for this week, which involved us learning about the blue zone. We learnt about the emotion sadness in particular today, through Colourful Semantics activities. We also looked at differentiated postcards linked to this emotion, using our current unit Phonics words.

On Wednesday morning, we did our Maths - Number lesson for this week. This involved us learning how to find one and lots and learning our number bonds to 5. In the afternoon, half of the class went on their first garden centre trip! They bought some seeds for us to plant next week and enjoyed seeing the fish. The other half of the class stayed in school and learnt about technology used inside and outside at home and at school.

On Thursday morning, we did our Maths - Measures lesson. We learnt about how to find big and small items, as well as how to sort big and small items. In the afternoon, the children completed their My Creativity lesson with Mrs Troughton.

On Friday morning, the other half of the class went to the garden centre (their first trip too)! The other half of the class stayed in school and learnt about technology used inside and outside at home and at school. For example, lawn mower. In the afternoon, we had golden time and did our celebration assembly. Congrats to our star of the week - Charlotte! For using her social stories to help her be brave enough to go to new places.

Looking forward to another excellent week next week!
Have a great weekend all.
From, Miss Buck
