On Monday Miss Troughton delivered Our Creativity lesson with the theme ‘Seaside’. This week we copied a picture by drawing it, then colouring it in. After this we got different materials and used glue to stick it to our pictures.

This week is Children’s Mental Health week.

Children's Mental Health Week was first launched ten years ago by children's mental health Charity, Place2Be. This year's theme is "Know Yourself, Grow Yourself. Learning about our world can help us to learn more about ourselves. We can discover more about how we feel and the things that excite or interest us.

As a class we discussed how mental health affects how we think, feel and act and how we cope with every day stresses and to realise our potential.

We talked about how checking our Zones throughout the day is a way of checking how everyone is feeling and if there is anything each of us could do to help us feel better. 7A asked lots of relevant questions. Each pupil said what makes them happy, what makes them sad and the things we care about. We have done various activities throughout the week looking at our emotions and how we feel. We looked at the Zones of Regulation app on our iPads and worked through the different parts. Everyone was superb at knowing which zones matched which colour.

On Wednesday Mrs Hough bought in a special breakfast for everyone as it was her birthday, we had pancakes and fruit kebabs, she also made cakes especially for us.. we are extremely lucky…Happy Birthday Mrs Hough!!!

During our P.E lesson we were put into teams to come up with different movements with the hoops and ribbons. Once we had practiced our moves, everyone sat on the bench to watch each teams performance using their different moves. After each performance the teams accepted constructive comments from their audience on what they had done. Everyone did a fantastic job.On Thursday in our My Thinking and Problem solving we collected data (different shoe sizes in class) and measured it on either  a bar chart ,list or table using a tally chart.

This week we had a look at our food diaries we have been completing all week. We discussed things we had eaten and what we could possibly swap some of the choices made for healthier options. Excellent work again this week everyone!!! One more to go!

We hope you all have a lovely weekend.
