Different Families, Same Love
LGBT+ History Month is celebrated in February in the UK. This week, Astley Park School is proud to celebrate LGBT History Month through exploring different family types.
- All learners will be working towards our weekly six star challenge in which all activities are linked to learning about different family types. These activities include access to stories with different family types (e.g. Picnic in the Park by Joe Griffiths and Tango Makes Three by Justin Richardson and Peter Parnell), exploring their own family by producing a family tree and the opportunity to join in a sing and sign session with the Equality Team.
- All learners will have access to a Microsoft TEAMS call which focuses on either colour, linked to the LGBT+ flag, exploring diversity or different family types.
- For learners onsite on Friday 26th February, you are invited to wear a bright colour to represent the different colours of the LGBT+ flag representing diversity around the world. For learners offsite you are invited to wear a bright colour to our Celebration Assembly on the same date.
