This week in maths, we continued learning about position and direction. We have been learning about clockwise and anticlockwise directions, applying our learning of fractions when talking about quarter, half, three-quarter and full turns, plotting coordinates to draw shapes and translating shapes across grids. In English, we have finally finished our stories and created titles and front covers. We will have them ready to come home to you by the end of next week.

On Monday afternoon, we learnt how to name different animals in Spanish and again, we found our favourites and translated them. We also used our learning to create a timeline of human development. We talked about the changes our bodies go through and how much we grow.

On Tuesday afternoon, we finished of our front covers on Book Creator for our stories and printed them out. We also made cards for the classes that we have worked in for work experience, as this week is sadly the last one of this year.

On Wednesday afternoon, we went over to Haigh Hall. We had lunch in the courtyard, had a lovely play on the park and finished our visit by going back to the courtyard for hot chocolate or hot vimto. It warmed us up just right.

Thursday morning saw us back at ASDA, to get our cooking ingredients for banana flapjacks on Friday and Spanish omelette on Monday. We stopped off at the cafe for a 'light bite' before we headed back to school. In the afternoon we had a visit from some students from St Michael's who are completing their Duke of Edinburgh award. They joined us for rounders on the field.

On Friday morning, we completed our last work experience. We have had a great time helping out in the primary classes and helping with jobs around school and this will hopefully be something that can be continued next year! It was also Year 11 graduation, so some of us stayed behind in class to watch the ceremony on Teams, whilst some of us went to bake banana flapjacks. In the afternoon, we had golden time and celebration assembly. This weeks star of the week is Gemma, for really progressing in rounders, playing well in a team and for being a good sport! Well done Gemma!
