Well that’s the last of the Bank Holiday weeks for us. We continue to get busy in 8A. Our whole class trips took us to Astley Park this week. The weather was kind to us as we walked there and enjoyed some time on the park. The clouds began to appear so we set off back to school to miss the rain.
Our gardening theme continues and the flower beds are looking a lot tidier at the front of school. We have made labels for the vegetable patch in the poly tunnel. Joseph has been helping Mrs Stubbs to water the plants to make sure they thrive.
With Miss Anderton we have been exploring animation and made our own Thaumatropes. We had fun spinning and watching each others as the pictures merged into one. PE this week involved a scavenger hunt outside working in pairs. The pupils took some great photos during this lesson. They are really enjoying having PE lessons outside in the good weather.
We have been looking at how our bodies change as we grow and how we can make sure we can help to stay healthy and hygienic. The class worked in boys group and girls group for this session.
In Cooking and Nutrition this week we have concentrated on life skills. In our groups we had the option of making cheese on toast, beans on toast, cheesy beans on toast or just toast. The pupils decided individually what they wanted to make and used a variety of methods, such as microwaves, hobs, toasters and grills. The pupils shopped for the items on their community visits. They are getting better at finding the best value product and are becoming very confident at scanning, packing and paying.
Well done Daniel who is this week’s star of the week.
Have a great weekend everyone and rest up as next week is a 5 day week for us all.
