Hi 7A
What a full fun packed week we have had in school and at home.
On Monday, Mrs Fisher was teaching maths. Some of the children in school was working either on numicon shapes up to 10, different number bonds to 20 and practicing 2 times table and dividing by 2. 7A also played a number game on the main class screen. We had two teams. Good turn taking was involved throughout and lots of thinking on getting the sum correct.
Some of the children who are working from home have been doing take away sums.
Monday afternoon we were lucky to miss the rain and we went on the climbing frame.
Tuesday morning 7A repeated their maths lesson.
Tuesday afternoon Mrs Fisher got the children to use the Garage Band app on their IPads. Out of 4 instruments, drums, keyboard, guitar and strings the pupils had to only choose 2 and make up a tune. As you will understand, the head phones had to come out.
Again on Wednesday morning was maths where the children had great fun with the maths wheel game on the board this time they worked on this individually helping each other when needed. Lot’s of communication and support from all of 7A pupils.
Wednesday afternoon , Mrs Crouch was in. The class was looking at different religions and we talked a lot about Buddhism and the celebration Wesak, We learnt that the Buddha taught us to be kind to others and we made prayer flags on purple mash.
Thursday morning it was Mrs Crouch’s My Communication lesson. The class has started to watch Toy Story 2. After watching the first 20 minutes, 7A had to use Book Creator app to either describe some pictures on who, what, when and where. Some other children had to answer some tricky questions using a full sentence answer, thinking about capital letters and finger spaces.
Thursday afternoon it was “Me and My Body”. First we learnt how to label our body parts with the correct names and then we enjoyed “keep fit with Mrs Crouch”. She had the help from a Joe Wicks work out. Joe was dressed as Buzz, linking to the work we have been doing on “Toy Story”. Everyone joined in, even the staff. There was lots of running on the spot, sit ups, star jumps and many more exercises. The children were brilliant and the staff had very red faces at the end. ( Mrs Taylor had very achy legs the day after).
Friday morning was our Celebration Assembly where we saw other classes and other children at home on Teams, during this assembly we also received certificates for our 5 star challenge where we received bronze and gold awards. In our My Communication lesson was again watching Toy Story 2 and answered some more questions on their iPads. You have really been watching closely and have done some super work.
Friday afternoon was golden time where some had time to relax on their iPads or do some drawing. We also managed 15 minutes on the climbing frame while the sum was shining.
All week at 2.30 some of the children who are learning from home joined us on teams for a snack and a chat. It was so nice seeing you. Would be great if more if you could join us.
