What a wonderfully time 9R have had this week…

Yesterday we travelled on the mini bus to The Fylde rugby club to take part in a Tag Rugby inter schools competition alongside nine other schools.

What a fabulous fun and very active time we had, the pupils played so well and it was heartwarming…

As part of Personal, Social Development and Life Skills, 9R spent a lesson learning about First Aid and in particular how to place a casualty in the correct recovery position.

In order to celebrate International Epilepsy Day 9R decided to take part in the 50 million steps challenge by walking around the track on our school field ten times which added up to one full mile.

This half term 9R have done lots of interesting work looking at the theme of Our World and other cultures.

9R had a brilliant  Christmas party day with lots of music, dancing, videos and party games not to mention the yummy food that was provided.

At the start of last week we were told that all the classes would be having a pumpkin competition which caused great excitement amongst the pupils and staff of 9R.

Last week was a very arty week in 9R as we looked at the seasons and in particular Autumn and all of the beautiful Autumnal colours that we are beginning to see on the trees and bushes around school.

9R have had a busy and enjoyable first week back after the long summer holiday. It has been lovely to see them catching up with their friends and myself, Ms Lea, and their class teacher, Mr Smith, have spent lots of time getting to know the students through activities,  online games  and fun…

Well, we can hardly believe that our Year 11’s are getting ready to leave and that this time next week they will have said their goodbyes to Astley Park as they go on to pastures anew.

This week has been filled with lots of learning through fun activities and we have spent a lot of time outside…

What a lovely sunny week it has been for 11G this week and we have made the most of the dry sunny weather by spending lots of time outside enjoying the fresh air.

We have watered our plants that are growing in the poly tunnel every single day and in return we have harvested lots of lovely big…
